Senior Full-Stack Engineer

Role summary

We're looking for a senior full-stack engineer to help build the core platform that powers Wabel's AI voice and messaging agents — the dashboard businesses use to configure their agent, the APIs that connect to WhatsApp/voice providers, and the internal tools our team uses to monitor conversation quality at scale.

You'll work across our Next.js frontend and Node backend, with real ownership over features from design through production — this is a small team where one engineer can meaningfully shape how a feature works, not just implement a spec handed down from someone else.

What you'll do

• Design and ship full-stack features across the customer-facing dashboard and the underlying APIs.
• Work directly with product and design on scoping — you'll help decide what to build, not just how.
• Improve the reliability and observability of the systems that handle live customer conversations.
• Review code, mentor junior engineers, and help set technical direction as the team grows.
• Participate in an on-call rotation for production issues (roughly one week in four).

What we're looking for

• 5+ years building production web applications, with real ownership of features end-to-end.
• Strong TypeScript/JavaScript, and comfort working across both frontend (React/Next.js) and backend (Node.js) code.
• Experience designing and integrating with third-party APIs (webhooks, REST, or similar).
• Comfortable in a fast-moving small-team environment where priorities can shift week to week.
• Professional working proficiency in English; Arabic is a plus but not required.

Nice to have

• Experience with real-time or messaging systems (WhatsApp Business API, Twilio, or similar).
• Familiarity with AI/LLM-based products or conversational interfaces.
• Prior experience at an early-stage startup.
